urgent help needed

hey folks,
i have a problem,i want to burn a .ISO file on a DVD whit a HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H30L,
but, he always give “no dvd inside”
please, i need your help!

does it still read cd’s? Remove it from the device manager and restart your pc. If it doesn’t work, then probably the dvd-laser is busted

That’s an error in windows, more people have that, but that wouldn’t change the fact of it being able to read dvd’s. A DVD-RW has 2 lasers, one for cd’s and 1 for dvd’s, either the laser itself died or the switch is broken, it will cost more to repare then to buy a new one.
