google “replace Pavilion DV7 power jack” or “Pavilion DV7 power jack” for more
According to the service manual,You’d be needing this one in specific:

You'd be needing this one in specific:
the one I posted says “DV7” in the description but according to the manual Roberto400 posted going by the part number on page 88 the one he posted is correct (501891-001), it’s a kit @ HP
if the pics @ amazon are accurate it looks like one has 5 pins and the other (Roberto400’s) has 6 pins
so you might check that before ordering
also the “kit” for that part number looks nothing like either of those
http://partsurfer.hp.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?partnumber=501891-001
so you might want to disassemble it before buying the cable
this is the stand alone part number (536857-001) but HP has no pic on there parts site
Product Number : VM238UA
Description : HP PAVILION DV7-3065DX ENTERTAINMENT NOTEBOOK PC

That pic you linked to is quite confusing,According to the manual,Both 536857-001/501891-001
are compatible (with the 891 being a “kit” that includes other stuff too),The interesting part is,When I looked em up on eBay,Both
looked exactly the same,But anyhow,I’d say the 6857 would be a safer bet.
That pic you linked to is quite confusing
yup
and not having a HP pic of 536857-001 don’t help
Ive hardwired a laptop cord into an ACER laptop
And when my Apple powercord began to short, I re-terminated that cord and used hot glue as the strain relief.
To get inside of the ACER, i used the service manual like the one posted above. ANd for the Apple cable I youtube’d disassembly instructions
do i need any scarf work to do?
its jut remove the cables?
You just need to remove the cable & plug the new one.
For the record,The correct word is soldering,A scarf is a piece of fabric you wear around your neck when it’s cold.
