If you’re just surfing the Internet, you will probably be fine but I can’t say for definite without any more details.
If the processor is just running on tick over, say < 15%, and the air is free flowing then possibly – but it is important that the air is being circulated really. If it’s stood up against something then it should really be moved, but if it’s stood on your desk or something then I’d probably go for it.
Your best bet is to just keep an eye on the temperature as much as you can because excessive heat will damage components and make them useless. And the more you try and make the components do, the hotter the will get (until they melt or can’t do any more of course).
Maybe you could point a low powered desk fan or something at it just to be safe.
Hope that helps

How can I see the temperatures without restarting the PC ? my windows is XP SP3?

Try Speed Fan. I’m not sure if you need to restart though.
To be honest, you should be able to just judge with your hand. If it’s too hot to put your hand for a minute or so, I’d start getting concerned.

No problem. I’d say just inside the case really. Particularly the CPU and RAM as that’s where the main heat will come from. Perhaps there’s a space for you to put the fan in the case – that might be a good idea because they would have allocated that space for a reason as that place would probably be inclined to get the hottest

Aida64 is a very good app for lots of things.

Computer > Sensors will display temps etc.
Or you can go to File > Preferences, turn on Sensor Icons display, and pick what you want to display in the system tray.

Often you dont even need a case fan. Cpu fan is essential, but other than that, it’s just extra. I have used lots of computers without case fans. And you sold close the case. An open case is not a good idea. There will be airflow inside it even with just the cpu fan, because of the air intakeholes in the case.

Run Your PC With the Case Closed
 PriceGrabber.com, Inc.
An "urban legend" about PC cooling is that running your computer with the case open will keep it cooler. It does seem logical - if the case is open, there would be more air flow which would help keep the computer cooler.
The missing puzzle piece here is dirt. When the case is left open, dust and debris clog the cooling fans faster than when the case is closed. This causes the fans to slow down and fail much quicker than usual. A clogged up fan does a terrible job at cooling your expensive computer components.
It's true that running your computer with the case open might provide a small benefit at first, but the increase in fan exposure to debris has a much greater impact on temperature.

On a serious note;
No, the computer may even operate on 60-70c, case fan is optional/extra, the CPU Fan is the necessary one!
You can enter the BIOS upon the pc boot by pressing ‘DEL’ once you start the PC, in which you can see the temperature of CPU/Motherboard in some tab.. Don’t forget to press ‘Exit without saving’ once you are done!
