My laptop loses internet connection, why?

Now, here is the reason why I’m asking WBB and not my ISP.
The internet is fine, I can play on my PS3 without any disconnection issues yet my laptop gets disconnected from the internet.
This happens early in the morning, shortly after midnight. When I’m downloading stuff, like now I’m trying to download a TV Show but the internet access keeps cutting out. Yet when I stop the download my internet access remains active without issues.
Any ideas?
Did you try to narrow down the problem with specific software? Does this happen only with some sort of download manager you use? I’d change the download manager, and if that does not help then scan my whole C drive with Kaspersky.
How are you connecting the lappy, via ethernet or wi-fi ?
If wi-fi, is there anything else that may be causing interference at that particular time of night ?
You could try changing to a less used channel if wi-fi, run inssider and see what your neighbours are using, and use another.

How is the PS3 connected to your router ? What router are you using ? Have you got the latest drivers installed for the wi-fi card in your lappy (if connecting via wi-fi) – you can locate what wi-fi card is in your lappy by looking at the sticker on the bottom of the lappy (it may be under the battery).
