Windows 8, 64bit install on a HP Pavilion dv8000

January 28th, 2020

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion dv8000 with a AMD Turion 64 1.8 GHz processor that should be able to run windows 8 64bit but when I try to install, it prompts a message saying that my processor needs repair and that it can’t run the 64 bit application.
Any thoughts on the matter?

Answer #1
Are you trying to install it by booting or from windows itself?
Answer #2
Isn’t the max memory on that 2 gig? If so why would you install a 64bit OS.
Besides after looking at the HP site I don’t think the motherboard supports it.
Answer #3
512MB 333MHz DDR SDRAM
your ram is quite old one-required-2gb
your maximum ram is 2gb -buy one 2gb ddr3 ram
you cant get drivers even for windows 7 on hp website
use vista drivers You should be able to use the Vista drivers for most of your hardware
