Website help

August 5th, 2016

Alright well I was recently asked to make a website for a friend and rather then use something like weebly or anything of the sort I decided I would dabble in using dreamweaver. So I created the design of the website in photoshop, but ocne I get to dreamweaver I am absolutely baffled at what to do, so I was wondering if someone could explain in simple terms what the next steps I should take would be.
Answer #1
Post the design so we can see what it is and how you can do it easily.

You had better put it on a image hosting site such as tinypic.com
Answer #4
so your a DW n00b ?
find & save web pages that you like or are similar and open them in DW to “see how it’s done”
or try creating the page in word then save as HTML(filtered) and open in DW
don’t use text boxes or any of word’s fancy stuff as it won’t convert properly
Answer #5
Believe it or not, YouTube helps! When I first started with DW YouTube told me exactly what to do; of course I got better with experience, though.

How would I do it in word?
Answer #7
probably better off to start in DW if your asking How would I do it in word?
did you save from the web and open some pages in DW
there’s also some good tutorials in the ebooks section of WBB
Answer #8
Fair enough, and yes I’ve been looking at some websites, but I for the life of me seem to be completely inept with this program. HTML does not seem to be my forte. So I suppose I should grab some tutorials from the ebooks section?, I mean the website isn’t anything to intricate, just a few buttons that lead to some pages of text.
Answer #9
I started with a clan site years ago and taught myself by D/L’ing pages
then learning some HTML from that
if you did the Pshop stuff from scratch you should be able to figure out basic DW in a short time
yes I've been looking at some websites
start with anything just to get your feet wet
then once you get the basics come on back with specific questions or anything you need clarification on

the next steps are :
1> slice the images up and save them for the web
2>use proper xhtml [create divs] and css in DW to recreate the layout/structure that you have setup in PS
your website is basically a 2 column layout.
you can find much more info about web layouts and code used to create them, here
