I know this file runs with Samsung Kies, but my phones away for repair and I need to view the messages. Any idea how I can do this. I’ve tried dragging the file into Samsung Kies, but it fails to open it. I’ve plugged my girlfriends Samsung Galaxy S II into Samsung Kies, and it’s allowing me to restore the messages onto her phone, but, that’s only going to complicate things on her handset.
So, except for using my girlfriends phone, any idea how I can view the .SME file?

you could
delete or lock all her messages then import yours to read / send them
then delete them off the phone when you are done
