Is it possible for me use two internet connections at once for different programs? For example can I use a hardwired connection for just Utorrent then have my wireless for everyhting else?
Answer #1
you would need 2 accts and 2 modems to do that
Answer #2
asuming you mean one dsl connection to a router ! with wired and wireless ports, your web bandwidth will be shared between wired and wireless no matter what you use them for
Answer #3
Not really. I was doing 2 connections on the same laptop earlier. You need to have 2 LAN ports on your PC. this way you can add 2 modems and work hassle free.
or, with one ram port:
You need two LAN networks on your network connection, setup with the different IPs
When you need a particular connection, plugin that cable into the modem, and enable the respective that particular LAN and use.
When you use the other connection, plugin the other cable, disable the previous lan, enable the 2nd lan, and connect
Its easy and convenient
Answer #4
yes, most programs will use the default connection but some applications do support that you select it manually, Vuze:
Bind to local IP This option allows you to bind Azureus to a specific IP address and thus a (virtual) network device. This may be useful if you have multiple internet connections
