Set new DVD drive a region?

January 21st, 2020

Well i just got a DVD drive i order from newegg today, and i installed it. Its one of those OEM ones so it just came in brown box with bubble wrapper and no instructions. I never installed one before so i thought i ask. Should i set a DVD region for it? I live in the USA BTW and so far without having one it reads cds but i was just wondering if leaving it without region affect burning stuff or is it the same? BTW is it a good DVD drive? i just got it cuz it was cheap. I saw similar LG drive at bestbuy for 100 bucks and then i saw it at newegg for around 20 bucks i just went for it lolz

You need to set the region if you plan to change continents along with the DVD Drive.
BTW,you can’t change it for more than 5 times.
And a DVD Drive installed in USA might not work properly in Asia if you don’t change the region.

I dont plan on changing continents, i was just wondering if it be fine like that. Like i have a previous burner and that one has been set to USA region its why i was wondering. And yeah im aware that it can only be changed 5 times.
