New TV – Looking for a way to hook up headphones

August 7th, 2016

Hey all
Not really up to speed with all the newer TV stuff but got to be a way to hook up a set of headphones?
My other TV had a headphone jack where I just plugged in the wireless Bluetooth transmitter that sent the signal to the headphones, DONE!!
The new TV, Samsung Model: UN55H7150AFXZA

I have a 3.5MM audio out on the back of the TV but plugging the transmitter in would be a PITA plus I have to disable the TV speakers to use it that way. On top of insult to injury no way to adjust the volume here, what you get is what you hear; I can control the volume to some extent on the wireless headphones
Also bought a sound bar which connects to the TV Via Bluetooth or should I say Samsung’s proprietary version of Bluetooth called Soundshare.

So, I have been unsuccessful at getting my wireless BackBeat Go bluetooth headphones to connect to the TV however the sound bar does because they are both Samsung. The sound bar does have an HDMI out which I thought maybe, an HDMI to 3.5MM converter would help, but thats not going to disable to sound on the sound bar when I use them
Thinking seriously about taking the sound bar back.
Anyone have an idea how I can connect a set of headphones to the TV
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to plug the headphones into the 3.5mm audio out and then control the soundbar independently?

Don’t this suck
No 3.5mm audio out on the sound bar
There’s an audio in, but not out

I been reading you user manual and that don’t explain things too clearly!
What I meant was, can you plug the phones into that 3.5mm audio out socket on the TV?
If not, then you would be up for a digital to analogue converter box which you can plug into the digital audio out from the TV.
You can then plug your cordless headphones into the box using the RCAs.

, as I said in the original post YES, on the back of the TV I do have a audio out but when I plug in the 3.5mm plug it don’t disable the speakers like a headphone jack would and I have no control of the volume there.
Yes, I’d have to disable the sound on the TV setting but looks like this is going to be my only option.
I thought about the TosLink too but I guess I’d be running into the same issue, disabling the sound on the TV then I run across this:

can i connect this to the xbox and connect a pair of headphones?
It doesn’t work, I tried it out already don’t buy it Right now I’m thinking only solution is a 3.5mm Headphone Extension and leave it connected to the back of the TV?

Plug my Bluetooth transmitter into it like I’ve been doing on the other TV to the headphone jack. Disable the speakers when I use the headphones and control the darn volume from the wireless headset and pray it’s loud enough
And finally, here’s my headset

Compatible with most Bluetooth smartphones, tablets and MP3 players
Now I bought a 3.5mm transmitter for it but the new TV has Bluetooth built in. Looking on the Samsung support page they don’t have the bluetooth locked as originally thought so I’m going by Bestbuy tomorrow.

You have digital audio out right?
Maybe look at this, if it would work the take the sound bar back.

Yes, I would get to the back of the telly and try that first off, and hope that the jack does not get disabled along with the speakers!
And yes, I guess it may be possible to pair the Bluetooth headphones directly with the TV, can but try..A bit of a suck it and see situation really.
It is a PITA how manufacturers have ignored a decent headphone set up with flat screen TVs in general..No looking after those with some hearing loss (like myself).
I have 4 later model CRT TVs around here and they all have headphone jacks with independent volume control

YES, the audio out on the back of the TV works; I’ve tested that, but like I said above, the sound I get is ok but that’s it. I can’t adjust the sound on the TV I have to rely on the amplifier on the headphones where I can adjust limited volume.
I got another idea
From the audio out on the back of the TV to this:

Connect my headset to it via Bluetooth?
