its simple, on input devices set your tv to hdmi and plug the hdmi cable into your laptop and click on display (small screen on lower hand of your screen and check on available display and click on hdmi)

The other way is to copy your movies to a flash drive or portable HDD.
Then you can plug it into the USB socket of the TV and select the source as USB.
Being a smart TV, it should handle most video formats OK.
This way you don’t tie up the laptop while watching your movies on TV
Answer #3
get a chromecast dongle (that is if you have a wireless router) plug dongle in TV’s HDMI input, run google chrome, with videostream, then cast the movie.
Answer #4
If you have a games console you may be able to stream to it thats what i do.
Answer #5

no just copy the movie to a usb stick and plug into the usb port on ur TV, I use a 32 GB key and works just fine…this is the fastest and simplest way…other ways exist, like vlc streaming from my PC to my linux based Dreambox, then TV, but harder to set up, unless you understand how this works

If your TV is DLNA compliant and has Wi-Fi that can connect to your router or laptop then you could give it a whirl.
All free and nothing to buy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serviio
Answer #11
Youtube is your friend for this, just load youtube up on a tablet or phone (mobile device) click the tv icon up top, and your video (from youtube only) will play perfectly on your hd tv. This is old, but works great!
Answer #12
I use Serviio to “share” my movies and music on my network.
The TV is connected to the network and use DLNA to stream the movies etc. Nice thing about doing it this way is you can browse through the movies etc with your TV remote, and also use TV controls like play/pause/forward etc.
