I have tried a recovery program also turned all hidden files on so they werent hidden but cant seem to access the photo`s my friend is desperate if someone can help please these are baby photo`s so very anxious to restore them back somehow

thanks will give it a go although I had already tried a retrieval program let you know how I go
Answer #3
From what I understand the files are intact,Just hidden,Open up a command prompt (Winkey+R>cmd),And type the following:
x:
cd folder
attrib -s -h -r /s *.*

X: = Drive letter of the external.
Folder = This is obvious.
This will get it sorted for sure,And just so you know,Enabling “show hidden files and folders” from folder options
is not the only option that affects this,”hide operating system files” matters too (this hides files that are marked as system,Usually
plain files should not be marked as such,But some viruses can make it happen)

try Magic Photo Recovery 2.0
Hope this will help you. You’ll
find this software in warez-bb.
Answer #6
right click inside the folder and click refresh
right click the folder, itself
make sure ‘hidden’ is completely unticked
you could also try booting into a linux distro
and see if you can see them or not
