How to setup godaddy’s DNS with my exchange server?

July 25th, 2016

Hi,
I have a small lab for training on exchange 2003 and ISA 2004.
Setup is like following:
internet — Speedtouche DSL Router — ISA 2004 (name: isa) — D-Link Switch — local network including 1 domain controller with DNS (name: srv), 1 Exchange 2003 server (name:exchange01) and 2 XP computers. domain name for example is abc.com
my domain is registered with godaddy.com. from xp computers, i can send emails outside my domain through exchange server but no emails are received. in fact, no emails are coming to my network at all. i can access the inbox only if i login to godaddy’s webmail. i have removed all A records, CName records and MX records from godaddy’s DNS control and created my own records to point to my network but no luck. incoming emails are still not going to my network but can be accessed through godaddy’s webmail.
I’m sure the problem is in godaddy’s DNS control but i’m not sure how to configure it. ISA rules are set properly.
any suggestion?
Thanx in advanced

Check the Mx record, MX record should be pointed to your mail server ip address.
