My friend with a laptop he received from a friend asked me to fix it up. turns out he has the same issue. Is there any way to access a part of the hardware that can reset the password. I couldn’t locate jumpers and the cmos removal will not work.
you can also try to remove the cmos battery but i doubt it will work.
Answer #8
It doesnt allow me to boot
try entering a pass, any pass, 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 times
at some point the boot menu will come up after multiple wrong pass entries
think it took 3 on mine

Remove the battery, and press the power on switch to remove electricity on the board. Open up the laptop, and remove the CMOS battery (little circular ‘watch’ battery), and wait for a minute. Put it back in a try powering up the laptop. If that fails, I think there are a couple of ‘jumpers’ you can remove which will get rid of it.

have to short pins (3 & 6) on chip 24c04 on the DELL latitude(s)…and it only applies to SOME notebooks. so act with caution.
