Best music creating/editing software?

So I would like to modify an old song and put my voice over parts of it and apply effects such as speed up to parts and etc. So need a program where it has seperate ‘layers’ and such I dont know, one that is simple enough to use but will give a professional result.

Try Fruity Loops. It may not be the best but it’s ‘simple’ enough for you to use.

Try Cubase SX.. I don’t edit music myself, but I’ve heard a little bit about this program

Cubase is too big, more complex and harder to use by a novice.
It’s like installing Microsoft Office’s Word to edit a text for which Notepad will suffice.
