Antivirus deleted virus fake version of a file, now windo…

August 6th, 2016

I know this must be a registry error but whenever I restart windows has a pop up saying
“Windows cannot find ‘C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Adobe32\svchost.exe’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.”
Now I know this isn’t about the legit version of svchost.exe, that’s not what this is about. What happened was I had a virus that used a fake version of svchost.exe but now that malwarebytes removed the virus/fake version, windows cannot find it when it tries to start, so it must just be a registry thing or something. I just want to get it to stop looking for svchost.exe
Please help, thanks!

Answer #1
Try looking in your startup programs:
– Go to Start and type Run, then hit Enter
– Type msconfig and hit Enter
– Click the Startup tab and disable any programs that shouldn’t run at startup
You could also try running a registry cleaner like CCleaner
Answer #2
Already tried both those..
Answer #3
post a screenshot of startup tab.
Answer #4
Download “autoruns” from system internals (google it) and run it – find the startup entry for that thijng and delete it.
