Wiped my laptops harddrive, XP wont install

August 22nd, 2020

My hard drive has been wiped and has no boot sectors.
I tried to load up the CD with XP lite on it and it begins to work.
However, right before it gets to the screen where i select the partition i wish to install the OS onto I get the Blue screen that tells me a problem has occurred and I need to shut down.
I’ve used this same CD on my desktop computer and it worked fine. Why won’t it work now?

Answer #1
What sort of XP lite did you download? tinyXP or something? could be problems with intergrated drivers, I had the same problem, turned out to be integrated sata drivers were incompatible with my machine thus cause a BSOD during install.
Answer #2
i changed the SATA to ATA and it worked!!
Answer #3
yea mate! it will install after changing ATA to SATA but it won’t have the same efficiency as SATA.
so before installing change it to ATA and then after installing I think you can change back to SATA without errors by installing the Intel Matrix manager drivers for SATA and then restarting it and changing back to SATA. Try that. or please correct me if i am wrong
