Updating Android Operating System

July 24th, 2020

So I’ve been trying to figure some things out and I am getting nowhere with the AT&T website. So here’s my hoping that I can get some ideas here.
So as it says, I downloaded Iris from the Google Play store and I want to actually use it so that my friend won’t Siri all over my face. I tried to set an alarm for 7 PM and Iris told me she couldn’t do it because she can’t do jack all with my version of Android.
So is it possible to download the latest Android OS and put it on my phone so my phone is updated or am I pretty much peeing into the wind here? Or Vomiting on the wrong side of the boat, if you will?

You can update your version of Android provided your manufacturer is offering it for your specific phone model. Or you could give CyanogenMod a look at:

Well I’ve spent the last several hours scouring the interwebs for my update. Seems like my LG Thrill P925 isn’t going to see much action past 2.3 or something. Does CyanogenMod cover the P925?

go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1265
In the development section you can see roms that people have made for the phone. (assuming i got the correct link for you)
You can then learn about how to flash roms using google and the forums themselves. btw the looks of it there are some unoffical ics roms. i’m not sure if they are perfect or not though.
if you need more info just ask

Yeah, you can get CyanogenMod 7 for it. CyanogenMod 7 is Gingerbread 2.3.7
I’ve used it on my Galaxy i5500 and I can say it’s a great ROM.
I’ve had the luck of finding a team devoted to my phone and a member is porting CM builds to it. I have ICS 4.0.4 on my old phone and it’s running very smooth.
