Sony DCR DVD109 mini dvd problem

July 29th, 2017

Hi Everyone,
I have a Sony Handycam DCR DVD109 that records on mini DVD (8cm).
Yesterday I was recording and after a while (cca 27 min of 30) when I had turned the camcorder on and off between recording the mini DVD disc didnt work any more and the camera asked if I wanted to format the mini DVD disk…
I didnt format the disk, so the data should still be on it (can be seen clearly on dvd), but I cant see the data on the disk on my PC (blank disk), is there any thing I can do to get the data back? I try with IsoBuster and CDRoller but they not work… btw I use Kodak DL DVD-RW
best regards

How long have you been using this mini DVD?
RW DVD’s (Note, not regular CD’s) tend to stop working after being re written too much.
Are you alble to play the DVD in your Handycam? If yes, try to connect it to your PC and extract the video data from your Handycam.
If not, I am afraid your data is lost.

If the video material you shot is not very valuable, just format it. Otherwise you should call the Sony helpdesk. They usually show some expertise with these kinds of problems. (At least for me they did.)

I contacted Sony and expect a response from them
Thank you to all the good
