Some internet cafe concerns..Please help

September 28th, 2017

Hey guys, I have some concerns that I would like to share with you. your help will be much appreciated. 1)first of all, I need some help on the easiest and least consuming time method to add, patch and update the games collection for my friend’s cafe. what kind of solution would you recommend? software and hardware wise solution are most welcomed. dont worry about using pirated softwares and law stuff. Currently this is what we are doing. Please note all the machines are using XP Home edition SP3.
-most of the games are installed on to one machine and -then we simply copy the folder (installation directory) to sharing folder. -we log in to each of the PCs manually and disable deep freeze. -paste all the installation folder to each and everyone of them. So as you can see, the games are put inside each of these local hardrives. It would be really tedious to update or patch our games every now and then. I have seen top internet cafes have one center directory(that what appears to me) and every user just runs the game from there. I am guessing we would need a server or the sort. but I dont know how to setup one.
Also, if we would like to make all the machines have the same configuration, say same desktop wallpaper for example, how could you achieve that without manually setting it.
2) 2nd question is since we got deepfreeze installed, the gamesaves and progress files of our games will be deleted upon restart, is that correct? is there any workaround regarding this matter? we got cod4 players playing on day one but their progress were gone the next day they play on the same machine.
3) 3rd question, we are using ecafepro for billing, my question is are there any known vulnerabilities, glitches or loopholes that customers can exploit to fool the system? if so, how would you fix it?
4)last but not least, should we enable usb connections? I know the likelihood of virus coming out is greater if we allow it. but most users are complaining that they can access their stuff off their flashdrives for office work and stuff. so is there any way to allow safe and secure usb connections? Thanks a lot for reading guys and I hope you come out with brilliant solutions.

anyone?

Updating several machines is indeed time consuming. I do not know how it could go faster. To solve your USB problem i have a good suggestion. Why not install linux in the PCs? If people need to use USB you restart PC and select linux, then no problem about getting viruses. There is OpenOffice which opens all Office 07 files and several Windows apps work in linux. Or dont you have an antivirus installed in this PCs? Deepfreeze is not enough IMO. But then AV would get outdated quick cuz needs to be updated manually.

thx for the reply, about linux, do you mean setting up dual OS option? we do have avast installed. but as you know new viruses are encountered every day.
