New pc, but so much lag….why?

October 23rd, 2019

I finally bought myself a new computer HP Pavilion 550-153wb Desktop PC with Intel Core i3-4170 Dual-Core Processor, 6GB,Memory, 23″ Monitor, 1TB Hard Drive and Windows 10 Home. I am using firefox and chrome for my browsers. Using acdsee.7, media players I use are kmplayer and gom player. But if I for example have acdsee open in 2-3 windows and at same time watching a small clip on either kmplayer or gom player the pc starts to freeze up, and I cannot even open task manager to close out some programs, because there is so much freezing and “not responding” I have to turn the pc off with the power button. Why?
I have scanned and scanned and no adaware, malware, viruses nothing.
Any ideas on whats going on? Even before I open anything I go to task manager and close out what I will not need running in the back ground. What in the world is causing this?

google “Decrapifier” and see if using that helps
I always flash the BIOS of a new PC
http://support.hp.com/
start here and locate the drivers and see if there’s a newer BIOS (& video card driver while you at it)
also check the BIOS settings for the CPU & memory
from your specs
6GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SDRAM memory (3)1x4GB and 1x2GB I believe that this memory confg (a mismatched pair) only runs in single chan mode
get CPU-z to check that and your CPU speed
and that’s a pretty low end CPU, and i5 is the minimum I’d ever recommend
but if you want to get down&dirty with the i3 go to http://www.blackviper.com/ and tweak the services that load
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i3-4170+%40+3.70GHz&id=2522
and check out “FastStone Image Viewer” as a ACDSee replacement http://www.faststone.org/
uses way less resources

It looks as if ADCsee can be a CPU hog problem..
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=acdsee+using+lot+of+cpu&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=QTKBV6_GA4y70AT8ua6QCw

Just open it up once and see what CPU it uses in task manager.

Do the trial and error routine:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_and_error
For example: Simply uninstall your acdsee. Use some other software to take away lots of System Memory, then check if your Firefox freezes up again.
BTW. go check out
http://www.irfanview.com/
Much better than acdsee!
Also use VLC-player instead of gom, km or windows one.
